Pairing A Pink & Blue Abstract Painting With Colorful Decor And Fashion Finds

Time for another round of what I’ve been calling Pair This There. So named in homage to SF Girl By Bay’s Wear This There series.

I’m pairing my Golf Pond Blue/Cotton Candy With Gradient Orange painting (a mouthful, I know!) with finds from around the internet.

Starting with a comfy coastal room by interior designer Courtney McLeod and adding this tropical paradise of an outfit styled by Allie Provost and a touch of simplicity with Virginia Sin ceramics.

I’m a huge fan of placing colorful artwork in neutral or minimal spaces.

I love how Courtney uses the bold chairs and dashes of orange and blue throw pillows in this room to move the eye around while keeping a lot of bright whites and calming colors as a canvas in the background.

As I learned from watching years of “What Not To Wear” back in the day, “It doesn’t have to match, it just has to go.” Don’t worry too much about finding a piece of art that matches the colors in your space exactly. Focus more on the general feeling and see how it all works together.

The Inspiration

The central blue color was inspired by beach town mini golf ponds on scorching summer days and childhood memories of attempting to play real golf with my dad.
