“A Bright Place Revisited,” is an ongoing series of color field paintings playing with the idea of permutations: how many possible combinations can we create from a few simple elements? No two pieces in this series are exactly the same. Whether it’s the order of colors or the size of canvas, each has its own fingerprint. The original “Bright Place” series was released in 2020 in the spirit of spreading color joy where and when it’s most needed.

Emily’s minimalist, textural paintings seek to bring craft into the context of fine art by literally stitching thread through artist’s canvas, presenting what was traditionally a women’s medium in the context of historically masculine painting.
