Art + Interiors: Minimalist Embroidery Art In A Grown-Up Pastel Room

Design Notes:
+ Designing my own grown-up home has been all about incorporating touches of a pastel color palette with an ethereal or rustic feel - rather than a bubblegum feel. That’s the balance to look for!

+ If your home is on the neutral side, stick with one or two pastel colors to pop in so that the colorful elements don’t become distracting. In this space, I went for beautiful cornflower blue storage bins and muted pink chairs, but toned things down with a neutral grey and white rug and simple lightwood frames on the artwork. I practiced major willpower in not adding any other pastel colors with the furniture and decor, since there are already tiny pops of peach and purple in the embroidery art.

+ Go for muted or dusty versions of your favorite pastel colors - like these pink linen chairs that have a more subdued, washed look. This will give you the joy of color in a way that feels more timeless and subtle.

In the space:

I do my best to share items that are consciously made. These boards are simply for visual inspiration - there may also be vegan or more ethically, sustainably made items in a similar style on the market. Please share your finds in the comments if you know any!
